Harappa is one of the principal cities of the Indus Valley Civilization (IVC), also called the Harappan Civilization, which flourished between c. 2600–1900 BCE. Located in the Punjab region of Pakistan, Harappa was one of the first major IVC sites to be discovered and excavated. Because of its early discovery and extensive remains, Harappa has become synonymous with the entire Indus culture.
