Mohenjo-daro is one of the most important archaeological sites of the Indus Valley Civilization (Harappan Civilization). Located in present-day Sindh, Pakistan, near the Indus River, it flourished around c. 2600–1900 BCE. The name Mohenjo-daro means “Mound of the Dead”, reflecting its ruined condition when discovered.
