Paul Cézanne (1839–1906) was a French artist who is often called the bridge between Impressionism and Modern art. While Impressionists focused on light and momentary effects, Cézanne aimed to reveal the underlying structure of nature through form, color, and composition. His work deeply influenced the development of Cubism, Fauvism, and the entire course of 20th-century painting.
