Paul Cézanne was a French post-impressionist painter who bridged the gap between Impressionism and modern art. He focused on structure and form, breaking objects and landscapes into simple geometric shapes and carefully balanced planes of color. Cézanne sought to bring order and permanence to what he saw, especially in his still lifes and views of Mont Sainte-Victoire. His innovative approach strongly influenced later movements such as Cubism and helped reshape the direction of 20th-century art.
