The Shahnameh (meaning “Book of Kings”) is an epic poem written by Ferdowsi around the 10th–11th century CE. It is one of the greatest works of Persian literature and is considered a national epic of Iran. The Shahnameh tells the story of the ancient kings and heroes of Persia, from the creation of the world to the Islamic conquest of Persia, blending mythology, history, and moral lessons
