Pakistan’s history begins with the ancient civilizations of the Indus Valley (Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro), which were among the world’s earliest urban cultures. Over centuries, the region saw the rise and fall of many empires, including the Maurya, Mughal, and various Muslim dynasties.
In the 19th and early 20th centuries, the area became part of British India. Growing demands for a separate Muslim homeland led to the creation of Pakistan in 1947, under the leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Since independence, Pakistan has faced political changes, military rule, economic challenges, and regional conflicts, but it has also made progress in education, industry, and culture. Today, Pakistan remains a nation rich in history, diversity, and resilience, balancing tradition with modern development.
